DailyObjects Data Breach

What happened

In approximately January 2018, a collection of more than 464k customer records from the Indian online retailer DailyObjects were leaked online. The data included names, physical and email addresses, phone numbers and "pincodes" stored in plain text. After multiple attempts to contact them, DailyObjects responded and received a copy of the data for verification, however failed to respond to multiple contact attempts following that.

• Change your DailyObjects password immediately, and update it anywhere you reused the same password.
• Enable two-factor authentication on the affected account and on your critical services (email, banking).
• Watch for targeted phishing emails referencing DailyObjects — attackers weaponise breach data quickly.
• Stay alert for smishing (SMS phishing) and SIM-swap attempts using your phone number.
• Exposed identity data raises identity-theft risk — consider credit monitoring or a credit freeze.
