MoDaCo Data Breach

What happened

In approximately January 2016, the UK based Android community known as MoDaCo suffered a data breach which exposed 880k subscriber identities. The data included email and IP addresses, usernames and passwords stored as salted MD5 hashes.

• Change your MoDaCo password immediately, and update it anywhere you reused the same password.
• Enable two-factor authentication on the affected account and on your critical services (email, banking).
• Watch for targeted phishing emails referencing MoDaCo — attackers weaponise breach data quickly.
