Teracod Data Breach

What happened

In May 2015, almost 100k user records were extracted from the Hungarian torrent site known as Teracod. The data was later discovered being torrented itself and included email addresses, passwords, private messages between members and the peering history of IP addresses using the service.

• Change your Teracod password immediately, and update it anywhere you reused the same password.
• Enable two-factor authentication on the affected account and on your critical services (email, banking).
• Watch for targeted phishing emails referencing Teracod — attackers weaponise breach data quickly.
