Yonéma Data Breach

What happened

In November 2024, data from the Senegalese payment platform Yonéma was posted to a popular hacking forum. The data included 36k unique email addresses alongside phone numbers, names and what appears to be encrypted passwords and dates of birth.

• Change your Yonéma password immediately, and update it anywhere you reused the same password.

• Watch for targeted phishing emails referencing Yonéma — attackers weaponise breach data quickly.

• Exposed identity data raises identity-theft risk — consider credit monitoring or a credit freeze.
