About the organisation

About Long-Lewis Automotive Group The Long-Lewis Auto Group is Alabama’s largest automotive retailer, with origins tracing back to a hardware store founded in Bessemer, Alabama, in 1887. It became one of the nation's very first Ford dealerships in 1915 and operates multiple dealerships across the state. Following a successful cyberattack on Long Lewis, more than 500 GB of confidential information was stolen. More than 15,000 records containing personal data of the organization’s customers and employees, important financial and banking documents, and other valuable company information were compromised. Currently, Long Lewis lost control of more than 650,000 files.

What the listing means

Long-Lewis Automotive Group appeared on the Dark Project leak site on 05 August 2026. Groups publish a victim once negotiations stall or as pressure during them, so a listing usually means data was already exfiltrated. This group has published 7 claims in the last 30 days and remains active.

Recommended actions

  • Treat any unsolicited message referencing Long-Lewis Automotive Group as suspicious — leaked data gets weaponised for phishing within days.
  • If you hold an account on www.longlewis.com, change that password now, update it anywhere you reused it, and enable two-factor authentication.
  • Watch for follow-on extortion: stolen data is often re-leaked or resold after the initial listing.
  • A leak-site listing is a claim made by the attacker, not a confirmed breach — check the organisation's own disclosures before acting on it.
